The Bangerang Cultural Centre occupies a significant place in Shepparton’s cultural landscape as a keeping place for priceless Indigenous art and artefacts from across Australia.
As the first Aboriginal-owned and operated Keeping Place/museum of its kind in Australia, and the first Aboriginal cultural centre located outside a capital city, the historical importance of the collection has been recognised by the Victorian Heritage Register.
Visit with family, friends or a school or tour group and you can learn about the history and culture of the first Australians through life-sized dioramas and artefacts.
