Bangerang Cultural Centre houses a significant collection of artefacts and works from Aboriginal artists from every state of Australia. Provenanced works date from the early 1900s to the late 1980s.
Textiles from Tiwi Designs and Ernabella, woodwork from Maraku Arts and Crafts, bark paintings from Oenpelli, Maningrida, Ramangining and Yirrkala, headdress and hair string skeins from Mornington Island; necklaces from Tasmania and emu eggs and pendants from Western Australia make up just some of the incredible collection of artefacts of national, state and local significance.
Some items are on display and some are in storage to protect the integrity of the item until a suitable climate-controlled display space can be obtained.
